QiStudy is an educational technology (EdTech) platform providing interactive student-written summaries and practice exams. Our services are subscription-based only; we do not provide consulting or tutoring outside of the platform.

Article 2 – Data We Collect

• Account information: Collected via Google OAuth (name, email).
• Registration metadata: Registration date, university, and programme of study.
• Usage data: Platform activity (e.g., accessed courses, practice sessions).
• Billing data: Processed by Stripe; no payment details are stored locally by QiStudy.
• Email preferences: Opt-out options available in every message.

• To provide, maintain, and improve our services.
• To authenticate users via Google OAuth.
• To process subscription payments securely through Stripe.
• To send essential service communications via Amazon SES (with opt-out available).
• To analyze aggregated, non-marketing analytics (Google Analytics 4) for service improvement.
• To comply with Dutch and EU legal obligations.

Article 4 – Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data under the following GDPR legal bases:

• Contract necessity: To provide the subscription service you signed up for.
• Legitimate interest: To ensure platform security, detect fraud, and improve functionality.

Article 6 – Cookies & Tracking

QiStudy uses minimal cookies. Google Analytics 4 is used strictly for service performance and error monitoring. No tracking is used for marketing or advertising purposes.

Article 7 – Data Retention

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law. Most user activity data is deleted on a yearly basis. Inactive accounts are anonymized or deleted within a reasonable timeframe.

Article 9 – International Transfers

All core data is stored within the European Union (Frankfurt data center via MongoDB Atlas). However, some third-party providers (Google, Stripe, AWS) may transfer data outside the EU. These providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards under GDPR.

Article 10 – Data Security

We implement industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), restricted access, and regular monitoring to secure personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and users should be aware of inherent risks.

Article 11 – Children’s Data

QiStudy is intended for university students. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 16 years of age. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us atprivacy@qistudy.com.
